Odyssey Community School is located on six acres in
the heart of historic Montford in Asheville, North Carolina. Constructed
in stone, brick and wood, the main building is 25,000 sq. ft with
15 classrooms, offices, a greenhouse, an auditorium, and a commercial
kitchen and cafeteria. The building was built by Duke University
25 years ago specifically as an educational facility. The school
also features a Jr. Olympic-size swimming pool, tennis courts,
a bathhouse, and a number of spacious and shaded playgrounds.
Zillicoa is a quiet private street with a rural
feel in the heart of the city; however, Odyssey is centrally located
for access by residents of Buncombe and Madison Counties. The
UNCA botanical gardens are located across the street, and the
new 45,000 square foot Health Adventure facility will be built on the
adjacent property. The campus includes numerous beautiful old
trees, the Reed Creek flowing alongside the property, and an urban greenway
that meanders along side.
